About Twee

Twee is a female lead makers studio in Philadelphia that is passionate about reimagining children's classic toys by making them sustainable. All Twee products are handmade and designed to aid development in kids, for example, increasing grip strength and fine motor skills while also encouraging creative play.

The founder behind Twee is former Philadelphia preschool teacher and artist Kate Leibrand, who, for fun, whipped up a batch of homemade doughnut-shaped chalk for her pre-school students. It was so loved by the parents and children at her school that Leibrand started experimenting with other fun shapes such as sushi, gems and unicorns before deciding to set up her own store.

Since its humble beginnings, Leibrand has perfected the recipe and uses entirely biodegradable materials, nontoxic substances, and mineral compounds. Along with ensuring all chalk is made from sustainable and safe ingredients, the packaging is also fully biodegradable and recyclable, even using plant-based film for the clear windows - even the glitter is biodegradable and eco-friendly.

Twee Sidewalk Chalk

Twee is designed for kids to take a step into the world of make-believe, to create, share masterpieces and use their imagination. TWEE chalk can be used on any surface with a little grit, such as sidewalks and driveways made of asphalt, concrete or slate. All the chalk is denser than chalk used on chalkboards, making it stronger and less likely to break while kids are making their little masterpieces.
