After a successful finance career, Darshana decided to embark on a new endeavour and studied Childrenswear Design at Central Saint Martins and Sustainable Business Strategy at Harvard Business School. With a mission to create a slow fashion women's wear and kidswear brand, Darshana launched her brand Atelier Parsmei.

The inspiration behind Atelier Parsmei is the bond that a mother has with her child, something Darshana experienced first-hand with her two young girls. This connection is also the inspiration behind the name as ParsMei, which translates to “part of me” in Latin.
